What does a car fuse box do?

An automotive fuse box includes an upper cover, lower cover, and fuse block with elements such as fuses, relays, and diodes. Some of them have performance characteristics such as waterproof automotive fuse boxes, fireproof automotive fuse boxes, and high-temperature resistance automotive fuse boxes.

The car fuse box is an electrical hub used to provide vehicle power distribution and loop protection.

The fuse box can simplify the installation of wire harnesses and the assembly process of the whole vehicle, improve the overall quality level of the system, reduce costs and reduce clutter.

Where are the automotive fuse boxes installed?

The installation position can be divided into three types:

1.UEC (Underhood Electrical Centre Fuse Box, also called Engine Bay Fuse box and known as EJB in Europe)

Location: On the right side of the engine bay
Function: It mainly protects the power supply circuit inside the car and its household appliances, such as onboard computer ECU, headlamp and audio horn, glass water, ABS circuit, etc.

2. IEC (Instrument Electrical Cabin Fuse Box, also known as PJB in Europe)

Location: On the left side below the steering column
Function: It mainly protects cigarette lighters, window glass adjustment, automatic seats and automobile airbags.

3. REC (Rear Electric Fuse Box, also called Boot Fuse box)

Location: under the Boot cover.
Function: It is less used and has more electronic functions to adapt to the current situation, or is added due to the long cable at the rear of the car body)
